Photograph your God..
Quite a challenge from my college professor.
For some, it evokes images of churches, family members, parents, trees, landscapes,
lovers, animals, clouds and skies, sunsets and sunrises, darkness, bright un-
identifiable objects etc..
For me, It is a lifetime challenge of creating hundreds of thousands of images that
only collectively, represents my view of god as a material, non material, religious
or spiritual way of conceptually imagining the vastness and reverence of what
many said couldn't be done.
Growing up in the burbs of Chicago gave me much to observe and capture on
film.
From the age of 9, I seemed to always have a camera with me ..
I studied every photography book in the library and seeing everyday images in
a totally different perspective became my vision. Even while pursuing much more
profitable careers, I realized I saw the world differently than most and just making
pretty pictures became secondary.
Getting a new camera was always a thrill. Like buying a new car and wanting to
go out and see how fast it would go.. A new toy was a great excuse to experiment.
New lenses allow a slightly different perspective. The thrill is still where it always
has been. My eyes, my mind and heart create the excitement.
